Hi,
Here is another fly from Austria, Tyrol, Niederthai (1.500 m), seen in last August. This time I am sure it is a Muscid. The experts can surely say more!
Many thanks, Sundew

I would have guessed Phaonia.

Shouldn't Muscina have a brownish scutellum tip? And the "Phaonia bristle" of the hind tibia is also there (but can be found also in other genera). Thanks for all support, but let's wait for Stephane's opinion!

I rely on M vein that I saw as being bending gently as in Muscina.. but it is almost straight. So if is this the case, Phaonia should be right. And the Phaonia bristle is present indeed. So I want to change to Phaonia.

Haha - Nikita is the best! But you all are great in your readyness to help. On Joke van Erkelens' website http://www.dipter...lietes.htm I read about Polietes lardarius: "anterior spiracle dark/grey + gena grey + upper calypter with pale hairs", which seems to fit fine. If one only knew which characters were needed to see before taking photographs...
