Found 11.06.2011 in Bodø, northern Norway. Size approx. 10 mm. Possible to say family? Only got one photo.

Yes, this is Sarcophagidae and definitely genus Sarcophaga. From the small reddish rim of the female terminalia sticking out under tergite 5, I get the impression that this is a species of subgenus Heteronychia, and as there is no trace of setae on vein R1 I would even dare to identify this as probably Sarcophaga (Heteronychia) vagans, as this species may have this vein bare or setose (bare on the photo but setose in most Heteronychia). The northerly locality fits well with this species, which is one of the few species of Sarcophaga reaching the northern parts of Fennoscandia.

Thanks for explanation and ID to genus. Not too familiar with the terms, but setae is present on the edge of the wings I think, just need to zoom in a bit... Tried to find out where R1 is by searching on the web, might add photo showing wing details?
