Thread subject: Diptera.info :: It's actually Ephydridae so it's not in Carnoidea!

Even at 64x magnification this little 1.5mm fly is difficult to see characters like post verticals (or not) on. I am guessing it is Carnoidea, maybe Milichiidae? Can anyone confirm, or even go further......

I think it's not a Chloropidae, in this family postpronotal lob is clearly and triangle of head is large, and these are in addition of wing venation.... these characters are general. I guess it is Ephidridae??! I am curious to another ideas?!

Valery, yes I initially thought Chloropidae, but there is no large ocellar triangle and it just looks wrong. Sara, I'll try Ephydridae.

Thank you Sara for pointing me in the right direction. This is Ephydridae - Axysta cesta. One for the gallery if I could get a decent enough image of it.
