Liz,

Thanks a lot. You confirm my initial thought: Herina.

Maybe H. tristis??? Or am I being too optimistic?

Toda lach,
André

Andre, I have checked all the Herina species found in Spain and Herina tristis matches to perfection. There isn't another species similar to yours. My only doubt is that there is one single species (Herina rivosecchii) that there isn't information about. That makes me think that it might be rare or not a confirmed species. Anyway, even in the case it is identical to H. tristis, this species is by difference, the most likely to be.

Herina tristis already in the gallery of Diptera.info for comparison.

Pilu,

I was almost sure it was H. tristis using the iberfauna list and comparing it with the foto Cesa mentioned.

Cesa,

This was exactly the photo that convinced me.

Thanks, both of you.:)

According to Elena Kameneva key, this is more likely Herina gyrans. And according to Fauna Europaea, H. gyrans is present in Spain, but not H. tristis.

Stephane,

I thank you very, very, much for your great help. And consulting other specialists is just incredible.

So, thanks, Stephane & Elena. :)
