Do we see here the "distinct black median stripe running from the antennae down to the mouth rim" (van Veen) of Sphaerophoria shirchan? There is no size given in van Veen's book for this species. The specimen is 7 mm long. The species is not mentioned in the Austrian checklist on http://syrphidae.com/checklist.php?country=AT
