Thank you Tristan... I will attempt for the third time to upload the pictures!
The Tabanid was photograpphed (by Steve Plant and myself respectively) at Hilton Nature Reserve in South Derbyshire, U.K. on 20th May, 2011

If it's not because it is too big or the wrong type ("Max. filesize: 195.31Kb / Allowed filetypes: .gif .jpg .png .zip .pdf .JPG .GIF .PDF .ZIP .PNG") then maybe you have have a disallowed character (such as a space) in the filename.
Try changing the filename so it just contains letters (eg: aaa.jpg).
