Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Empididae, Rhamphomyia sp., northern Norway

Maybe this is genus Empis? Close to 10 mm, photographed outside my apartment in Bodø, northern norway. Date is 28.05.2011.

Empis has R4+5 forked. I don't know if there are any Empidinae other than
Rhamphomyia with R4+5 simple.

Thanks for your explanation. Also I wrote Empidae, guess Empididae is the correct family name...

Rhamphomyia (Rhamphomyia) sp. Possibly a species of the
Albosegmentata group, but unfortunately I have never seen any life ones so I cannot be certain. They can look differently after being on a pin for a while or in alcohol. ;)
