I think all these are Cheilosia albitarsis but would like to have confirmation.

it is not albitarsis, as the front tasi are black.

I am not sure what it could be without refenece books to hand, but it has a Cheilosia variabilis look to it?

Hi Mark,

thank you for your interesting comment.

A little impatient I have put these pics into the Syrphidae-forum last night and got an immediate response from Andre:
Cheilosia variabilis

Prior to showing it here I checked this species too and refused it, because my books say that the legs are completely black. Otherwise it fits very well and I'm sure you both are right.

Thanks, Rolf

I think you will find the legs are all black and the yellow you see are bristles?
