Hello all,
Perhaps Dorycera graminum ? Or Macheirocera grandis, or ? I can't really decide on the basis of available photos.

Nimes, May 10th. Size approx like a biggish house fly, as far as I remember.
Thanks for your help
Philippe

A Dorycera sp. I hardly can tell you, which one of the two based on those pics alone.

Wow nice species!
Where in Nimes did you saw it? Tienne Breumont?

Sorry, that was Nīmes, Gard, France! ;)
The other one would have been a real scoop!

Dorycera graminum is a final decision after Elena took a look at it and I took a look at our collection.
