Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Slender Phaonia (?) from 25.04.11 --> Hylemya nigrimana (Anthomyiidae)

Hello!

This 8-9 mm fly was just about to take off from our house (northwest Germany), when I took this single photo. Phaonia sp.?

Arrghhhh... I thought, this one was too big for Anthomyiidae. It was a third larger than most of the thousands of Anthomyiids flying currently. Thanks, Erikas!

Yes, it should be Hylemya nigrimana. And I agree, there are too many Antho flying currently...
