Hello!

I have had males around for a few days, is this a female Delia radicum? (changed title to D. platura)

14th April, near Lincoln UK.

As there is an ad seta on the mid tibia, I wouldn't say it is Delia radicum. A better guess would be female Lasiomma, probably L. picipes because I can see just 1 pd on the mid tibia. Greetings, Niels

Hi Niels, I think the male Delia radicum differs to the female, check the pics I have in the gallery of a mating pair. The female does have a strong ad on the mid tibia by the looks.

What I'm having trouble seeing is the 2 pd setae on the front tibia, there looks to be only one unless that is variable?

Janet, are you sure this isn't D. platura? The pre-alar (if I'm looking at the right bristle!) seems shorter than the second notopleural.

Stephen, I'm not sure of anything! ;) You could be right, D. paltura was around too where I got this.

I checked out Nikita's female D. platura, it does match better! I'll change the title, but I think that is it.
