Hello!
About 6 mm, on tree trunk at forest border (northwest Germany). Possibly
Campylochaeta praecox this time?

Lypha dubia again? I can't see strong parafacial-ridge bristles :)

Hello, Erikas and Chris!
I had seen the
Lyhia dubia posting here recently, but my fly seemed more slender to me. On the other hand I remember
C. praecox with a substantial metallic gloss, which seems to lack this one.

NO correction, Erikas is completely right.
The antenna is much too long for Lypha, moreover, the tibiae are reddish.
If you turn the picture around, you can see the ocellar bristles are reclinate. That settles it.
(and the parafacial is hairy)
