Hello!

I think I have tracked the wing venation down to Exechiopsis sp. on Bugguide. I also found Exechiopsis pulchella on Bold Systems which looks to have large genitalia but the abdomen pattern doesn't look the same. I'm wondering if the pic I got of the male genitalia is sufficient to give an ID? Clutching at straws I know! ;)

Found inside on 29th March, near Lincoln UK. Size ~5mm.

3 pics.. I can crop the side view closer if required.

Janet :)

Could you crop the side view a little please? I think its an Exechiopsis (Xenexechia) sp.

I think it's probably Exechia festiva

I think you might be right! I found a pic, the body pattern matches..

I saw the same fly on 31st at night inside on the floor so I got more pics, I've just edited them. These might be clearer.
