hairs behind eyes all pale, relatively short and neat
analis
basally infuscated with relatively sharp border
hairs behind eyes include many long black ones

I agree with david, these pictures
http://www.dipter...to_id=1742. Bombylius cruciatus is very common in my region and it is not him on these photos.
On B. cruciatus, the longitudinal median strip never goes on on the thorax.
