Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae from willow (23.03.11) --> Egle cf. ciliata (f)

Hello!

All these Anthomyiids (5-7 mm) are from our garden (northwest Germany) near a blooming willow (Salix caprea). There were also males of Egle sp. there, and I wonder if these are females from that genus. Unfortunately I did not manage to get a good lateral shot of the head...

I'm quite sure this is a female Egle, but I can't tell you which species.

I agree with Niels Jan.
Most probable E.ciliata.
Hope you can manage to make a lateral shot of the head soon.

Thanks Niels and Joke. I hope they are still around, when the weather becomes better again...
