5mm; long legs, tib2 1 a, 2pv; tib3 4 pd, 5ad, 3 av; complete line of several v/pv; mid femur with striking posterior sub apical; antenna 3 appears very granular surface; squama buff with long pale hairs on margin; dorsocentrals 2 presut, 3 post sut; acrostichals all strong hairs/weak bristles 3 presut, 5 post sut; hairs under scutellum; abdomen narrow.
QUERIES in picture 4, which is the pre-alar, I'm ashamed to say I still find it confusing. Is it the small bristle closest to the second notopleural or the longer one to the right? Also, in Michael Ackland's key, at least my version, couplet 17 first option is a long description which appears to diagnose a genus I imagine (with a species atrogrisea) but in my copy, there is no diagnosis or reference to other couplets, just a blank. What should be there please?

The destintion you mention goes to the genus group

Anatomically there are a couple of recurring issues I have, too! I take the pre-alar to be the one to the top-right of the notopleural bristle.
