This seems to be a male from the terminalia despite distance between eyes; arista is pubescent; there are a pair of ventral apical setae of similar size anteriorly and posteriorly. So I am wondering, before I go deeper into the Ackland key, does this look like a Chirosia species?

Are you sure the first fly is the same as the other flies.
The absomen of the first fly seems different from photo 4.. (maybe shot of genital part)
Could you check if there are little hairs under scutellum.
Hairs on t2 (with av or not, seems to have 2 ad+2 posterior)
Hairs on t3 (howmany av+ad+pd+pv)
Is notopleuron haired or not
Better view on the acrostichals....
And the lenght of the prealar
Joke :)

Joke,
Your information is as follows;
Tibia 2 , 2 ad; 2pd; 2 p but no ventrals
Tibia 3 , 3 ad; 3pd (also a smaller one at the base); 2 av; 2 p or maybe pv
Notopleuron bare except for a few hairs at the top anterior corner
Pre-alar much longer than 2nd notopleural
Acrostichals all small scattered hairs except for pre-scutellars which are very weak crossed bristles.
Does this help?
Regards

Joke,
Yes, 4 very definite av's on mid-femur. is this still a 'looks like' situation?
