In my ignorance, I see it similar to other specimens identified as Chironomus. Is it?. Could be identified more accurately?
Is about one centimeter long.
In the wetland Pond Suarez in Motril, Granada, Spain.
A greeting and grateful for your help.

It is a male of tribe Chironomini. It is likely in the group of genera containing
Chironomus, based on appearance and what I can see of terminal appendages. Somebody who knows European species may recognize it. Few Chironomidae are as long as 1 cm, head to tail.

Thanks John Carr.
Wait and see if someone who knows the European species, can give us your opinion.
A greetings
