Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Red assassin bug; Rhynocoris?

Can anyone ID this red assassin bug? Reduviidae. I think it is Rhynocoris iracundus or rubricus but I'm not sure how to tell them apart and it may be something else altogether.

21.7.2010 Zadar province, Croatia near coast, c12mm.

I found this link http://medlibrary.org/medwiki/Rhynocoris_iracundus which offers a way to separate R. iracundus from R. rubrica - rubricus has a generally black rather than red frontal lobe of the pronotum and narrower red bands on the legs than rubrica. On that basis I think this is R. iracundus, but an expert might say it rally needs a specimen/microscope.
