Any chance it could it be from the sub-family that
Linnaemyia hails from Chris? They both seem to have that pretty long seta on the mid femora, and an elongate A3.
(
either that, or I'm showing more holes in my knowledge of Tachs than there are in a tea-bag).

Aaahhhh ... well, I am not sure how this fly will change in shape and colour, let alone what the wing venation will be. I can't convince myself that it has a projecting mouth edge or a yellow basicosta ... so I doubt that it is
