I've been caught out before by Oriental Ephydridae - so I'm playing the "older and wiser" card! Nothing in the photo suggest that this is not an ephydrid (other than the fact I don't recognise it - but as we know that's not a good feature!) so I think this is an ephydrid, and it is probably Psilopini or in a related tribe. It looks a bit like
Trimerina, but the thoracic chaetotaxy isn't quite right.

It is Ceropsilopa cupreiventris (Wulp, 1897).

PS. as in some previous cases jorgemtalmeida show little expertise in Ephydridae.
