Hi,
this large Tachinidae was in my Sarcophagidae unit. Looks a lot like
Estheria petiolata but cat that be so ? June 28. 2010 Loviisa, Finland.

It certainly has the face of
Estheria ... but I can't see the wing venation to go further :)

Yes, looks like Estheria petiolata or picta.

That huge gena and 'beard' on the sub-vibrissal ridge reminded me of some nice ones I had from Peru:

Apologies for the terrible photos ... just thought they looked interesting in comparison to the
