Here I am back with one of my now rare appearances asking a favour for a friend who, as you can see, is not equipped for taking macro photos of very small subjects. The photos are drastically cropped and I apologise for the quality, but she is very keen to find out more about this fly if at all possible. Can anyone help, despite the lack of detail? The photos were taken in central Italy in about this period. She hasn't given me information about the dimensions, but if they are critical, I can ask. Thanks, Sarah.

What speed!!! That is definitely it, unmistakeable. Perhaps it's not such a coincidence as Carlo (whose work I have seen elsewhere) is not that far away from where this photo was taken. Many thanks and my compliments for all the improvements made to the forum since I was last here. Hope to get back to posting more regularly before long :), Sarah.
