Hello,

27th October at night attracted to light, on my door outside. Near Lincoln UK.

Could it be the same species as the female I got the following night?

Yes, indeed, there are a lot of F. species :)
PS. the female is not a biting midge

Aaah, I had noticed the mouth parts of the female were not one of a biting midge, but apparently some don't bite or that is what I read.

It is still Ceratopogonidae though or not?

Thank you!

Now I am stuck for a family.. it's probably one of the sub-families of Chironomidae.
