Hello!

A 9 mm Suillia from our gardenshed yesterday afternoon (northwest Germany). Unfortunately this is the only photo.

I am so sorry, Juergen, but I am afraid the photo is too unclear. Are there the variegata markings on the wings? I am not sure at all.

BTW, I was looking outside today as well, but I did not see any Suillia. It is now the correct time for looking for Orbellia's, Oldenbergiella's, but not in the Netherlands. :(

Hello, Ruud!

Thank you. There are at least some darker shadows in the wings, but I think, not as contrasted as in S. variegata. My first impression also was of a much bigger Suillia than that species (normally only 5-6 mm here).

I did not find those genera, yet (ever, not only this autumn). But I have four or five other unknown Heleomyzidae from yesterday to post ;) (I'm just examining the photos).

Orbellia and Oldenbergiella seem to be among the cold-adapted genera, active on cadavers in winter - it may even be too early yet to be looking !l

I collected the first Orbellia hiemalis on november 15, and the first Oldenbergiella on november 3rd, in Budapest
