Hi

Some Psychodidaes from mai 2010. Is it possible to give an ID?
Thanks for all help!

Switzerland, near small wetland and forest edge, always on leaves, dancing arround
mai 2010, 430 msm

Unlucky, that's the one thing it's definitely not ! Probably Boreoclytocerus (with strong reservations)

Second thoughts: probably a Pericoma. I now think the other three might be Boreoclytocerus. But you really need to send them to me in alcohol for a positive ID.

Please, Phil, can you tell us why? I looked at the antennae and the wings....and came to my wrong conclusion. It is a very interesting family, but I am afraid I am doing already too much.

Psychoda has pointed wings, and the antennae are comprised of flask-shaped segments (i.e. with a distinct neck). Pericoma has barrel-shaped antennal segments, with no prolongation of the basal segment...lecture over.
