Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Stumped! 4mm strange fly>Clinocera stagnalis

Hello!

This fly I found at the water's edge of my pond, 27th October. Size 4mm. Near Lincoln UK.

Any ideas? I haven't seen anything like it!

Thanks Paul! I thought the wing venation had some similarities to an Empid, nice one! I'll put a pic or two in the gallery later. :D
