Hello

Collected 17 05 10, size 11mm.
If I don't make a mistake about genus, I think L. comta.

Hmm, interesting fly - very red on the abdomen but it does have hairy eyes, projecting mouth edge and pale basicosta ... I have never knowingly seem L.comta though so I will wait for Theo :) Something looks wrong though - it is very hairy and has a deep gena ... not sure what it might be though.

Looks indeed like comta-subgroup. The hairs on sternite 1 should be light, not dark, you might verify that.
However, proclinate oe are lacking, so it can't be comta and should be its sister species soror.

Effectively hairs on the sternite 1 are bright.

I had little doubt they were.
