Hello,

15th October, on Ivy, my garden near Lincoln UK. Around 3mm.

3 pics, shame I didn't get the face clearer! But there's a great shot of the front leg! ;)

The blurred bits look sort of Piophilidae-ish...don't know what the bit that is in focus belongs to...:P

It resembles Prochyliza, we have two species, P. nigricornis and P. nigrimana. If the genus is correct, is it possible to separate the two?

It appears we also have Prochyliza varipes, which gives many more records for the Essex area (a little south of me) than either of the other two which give one and two locations.. but that is not unusual!

That is not listed on the diptera listing! Neither is it on the NBN Gateway.
