Thank you Tony, I have P. nitidula but this one looks different. I guess Psilopa sp. is all that can be said.

Well, this does look like
nitidula, but the characters (tibial color for instance) are not clear in the photos. How does this look different?

Hmm, I thought this one was more brown where others have a greenish tinge.
The antennae also don't look quite the same, the ends don't look as dark but I also thought they were a different shape.
I got another shot of the face but it's not good, it does show some tibia colour though.

Here's one I got on 30th September
Comparing the antennae, the other one doesn't have a long bristle and it looks to have feathered bristles off the tip of the antennae. Those features can be seen in the crop I posted of the head from behind in the fly for ID.
Arrgh, now I can see those features in the other photos! :S
(edited twice as I got that all muddled!)
