Rather small species (4.5mm). Hypopleural bristles. Arista pubescent (hairs possibly as long as arista basal diameter), and eyes bare. Vein 1 bare. Vein 4+5 bare except for a very long hair at the node. Scutellum with apparently only 2 pairs of marginals, the apicals long and crossed but still shorter than the lateral pair which = about twice the length of the scutellum. Two strong sternopleural bristles both on the higher level, and with 2 weaker ones between them. Wing with petiole. All tergites with marginals, tergite 3 with a pair of smaller discal bristles. Tergites 3 and 4 with silvery bands almost meeting in the middle otherwise black. Thorax and scutellum black, humerals strongly dusted white. A row of long bristles at the lower angle of gena (‘jawline’).
