Is the thorax colour right for G. tripunctata? I thought it looked like the gallery pictures of G. hackmani?

Wow, great video! This is not Geomyza tripunctata but a female specimen belonging to the group G. balachowskyi, G. hackmani, G. martineki, G. annae. Unfortunately you need to study sternite 8 (often retracted) to make sure which species it concerns.
I suppose you didn't collect the specimen!?

There are few tings in life that are more relaxing than lying in the grass and watching Opomyzids go about their daily business. Especially the more docile Opomyza spp.

Nice video!

Ok, I have changed the description at commons to "G. spec.".
The fly escaped into the grass, I did not try to collect it .
And yes, lying in the grass on a sunny day and making a video for wikipedia, thatīs a fine holly day for me.

Thanks again, Pristurus
