Long time no see ;)! This fly of about 5/6 mm long photographed in a dry hot sandy area not far from Rome has been kindly identified by Pietro as a Miltogramminae and he suggests I ask here whether someone might be able to get a little closer. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Sarah.

It looks like a Craticulina, waiting for a more expert opinion...

In the meantime, thanks Stephane. I don't know if it could be indicative, but the fly was closely following the movements of a Bembix oculata.
