Photo taken in Reading, UK on 2010-09-30. Looks similar to some
Diplonevra sp in the gallery. Is this its correct genus?

To be honest, I do not think it is Diplonevra, because I can't see the two bristles on the mid tibia. But I am not able to say to which genus it belongs. I think it will be very difficult with these 2 photo's.

Well, on looking carefully again, I looked to the last tibia :-(. I can see a large bristle on the mid tibia. But again, I can't conclude that the fly belong to Diplonevra, but it is possible....Maybe there are real specialist? It is anyway a fascinating family

Thanks anyway. I think I will have to get a better camera for small flies like these.

This could be the same as the fly I had, Brian Brown is the Phoridae expert.
