Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Muscidae? red/orange fly

Hi, this fly was buzzing around in my window yesterday. Location is outside Oslo, Norway.
is it a Tachinidae?

Looks like a muscid to me - note the median vein is straight, which is very rare in tachinids ;)

Thanks, muscid it is. Looking in the Muscidae gallery, there is only one fly looking like this - Thricops diaphanus. Are there other species it could be?

Phaonia pallida is very close in appearance, but
Thricops diaphanus is the right ID here.
