My first impression is muscidae - Hebecnema, but I havebeen wrong before (it's hard to believe but it's true!)

Thank you Kahis for your help again;) Before posting, I rattled through the families to ty and establish at least that level but failed even there!
I have been right on some (very few) IDs but my track record is very poor:S

Sorry, but this is a male Hydrotaea (subgenus Ophyra). It is very probably H. capensis.

So I was wrong :) But in my defence, H. capensis is a species I have never seen before.
