I am in Chiang Rai, right up the north in Thailand. This photo was taken near paddies on the NE side of the city.

Looks like a Sarcophaga sp. - at the very least it's a sarcophagid :)

I would be difficult from this to name it from a photo if it was European - From Asia I doubt you would get closer to a name than Sarcophaga sp.

This is a Sarcophaga sp. and could be any of several subgenera with four postsutural dorsocentrals. Common species at such localities would be Sarcophaga (Parasarcophaga) albiceps and Sarcophaga (Boettcherisca) peregrina, but a close view of the terminalia is needed for proper identification.
