Bombyliidae...Know zip about them, but wings match Geron in the Gallery.

All the Bombyliidae I know have two veins that meet the costa at right angles? Don't see that in this specimen.

Geron is different from the rest in the Gallery..http://www.dipter...to_id=2397 only a suggestion, don't know what you might have in Oz.

Well I guess you can see the veins 'trying' to form a right angle. Thanks.

For your interest, the specimen pictured is near other Bombyliidae on a taxon ID tree from BOLD.

Quite a few in OZ...http://hbs.bishop...iidae.html
Maybe Dave Gibbs will be able to pin it down. :)

Looks like a bombylid to me too - best change the title to attract Dave ;)

How do I edit the title?

There should be an EDIT button on your posts - just go to the first one in a thread and click on this button. Then just change the 'Subject' field and save it :)
