Hi,
I have still lots of photos in store that I took on the Baltic Island of Usedom in Summer 2008. This is a nice Tachinid, seen on 12 August.
Many thanks, Sundew

Voria ruralis :)
The angled m-cu, strong down-curved parafacial bristle and lack of median discals are characteristic :)

Thanks, Chris! This is another one I had photographed only with the small pocket camera till now. So the important characters were not clearly seen. Why do I find this fly only at the Baltic? I have not seen it in Berlin yet...

Not sure really ... they are pretty common everywhere I go but I haven't caught many recently.

Voria ruralis is a parasitoid of Plusia gamma and therefore most common in autumn. You can find it till October.
