Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae -Nowickia ferox

So, not as I'd thought a syrphidae -
I've been through the 27 pages of Syrphidae and couldn't find a match. Not really happy with it as a Eristalis or possibly not even Syrphidae, vein pattern on wing edge looks completely wrong. So any ideas welcomed, thanks.

The "Vena Spuria" or false vain between Vain R4+5 and M1 is the easy way to identify most Syrhids
there is a good illustration here
