June 7 2009, mixed woods of Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Between 5 and 10 mm long. Any clues appreciated.

I'd say Pegomya sp. (Anthomyiidae - anal vein reaches wing margin).

Thanks. I'm impressed that you can see it despite all the shiny reflection. I have seen anal vein diagrams for muscids vs anthomyiids, but I don't find it easy to see on living flies.
