Thread subject: Diptera.info :: sarcophaga? Help please

I don't really think it is but after 2 hours with Stephen R's suggestion of 'A key to the families of British Diptera' by D M Unwin and realising (quite early on) that I didn't have the vocabulary or conclusive photos of all parts required for ID, I guessed!! A second to follow shortly.

Tachinidae/Rhinophoridae.

Thanks Theo, now you have pointed me in this direction I'd have to agree, I have submitted another photo (not as sharp or 'good' as first but does show some wing detail which is v. similar to Stevenia signata2 shown in the Diptera Gallery (by Nikita Vikhrev).

Ok, thanks Theo - as a new comer to this, it's not easy to know what info separates the species, I now appreciate more that each different angle and view of the insect can give further clues (and consequently have failed early on in that respect as I have binned nearly all the 'out of focus' shots which may well have carried important info!) Well, you have to start somewhere and so for me - the bottom it is!.
