Thread subject: Diptera.info :: orange fly

Hello,

this fly is from two weeks ago from a roadside near Neuss (germany). The picture is not very good, but can perhaps the family or the genus be recognized? Length was perhaps 8 or 9mm.

The hind leg bear too much long pd for Phaonia, and (hard to see) there are only 3 post dc : this is a male Pegomya testacea (=silacea).

thank you both for your answer. My first thought was Phaonia too, but I knew there are too many too similar species for me.
