Hi,
We have more than 30°C here, so a winter pic might be refreshing! In the mountains of Austria I saw several of these midges sitting in the snow (date: 29 December 2009). I did not expect to find flies, so I had my macro lens not at hand. Nevertheless I would guess Trichoceridae, possibly genus Trichocera? Who is familiar with midges with cold feet?
Many thanks, Sundew

Hi, this is Trichocera indeed, just it's hard to tell the species from your pictures as it is a female.

No problem at all, Trichocera spec. is fine. The family is new for me, so many thanks for confirmation!
