Hi,
I was in Anjozorobe when I found this "spiky" fly. IS it a Therevidae? If not, what?

Thanks,

We have excellent Tachinid experts, so change the title of the thread to attract them. However, I am afraid the photo is much too small to show the necessary details (e. g., bristle arrangement on face, thorax, and legs, and wing venation). So you will only get a vague guess...

You have not yet changed the title of your thread, so no Tachinid expert will expect to be asked for help! Therevidae is a completely different family; only Theo Zeegers is familiar with both...

Sorry - you didn't... :)
First use "Edit" button - then change title in the upper "Subject" line - then click "Save Changes". At least the last step is still not done.

Looks like a Thelaira sp. - or at least a relative do you have more angles, showing the face better?
