Norway, 27.05.10

Always hope to find a 3rd Calliphora, but probably not today :)

Visiting dead mouse, same size as C. vicina, maybe slightly less bulky, it had faint patches of green on it's abdomen.

Hopefully someone can help with Genus, could be Pollenia?

Pollenia should have short blond hairs between the strong thorax bristles (cp. http://www.insekt...terfliege/) or at least remnants of them. I think I can see some of them, so the genus name should be correct.

I have looked for those golden hairs and I am not sure I see any, the fly is quite dirty. It is probably Pollenia though.

I think it is a Bellardia, I have never seen a Pollenia with greenish hues on abdomen.
