Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Empis pennipes male and female?

Hi,
The flowers of
Geranium pyrenaicum are intensively visited by
Empis flies at the moment. Should be
E. pennipes, I reckon. Am I right?

Hi,
I had never seen that the female had feathers on middle legs !! Congrats for the picture.

You haven`t seen that? So you're not familiar with our gallery :D. - The pictures were easy to shoot, as the females were swarming on the
Geranium flowers. Males were much rarer.

Would be fine if Paul confirmed me the male. The female should be
E. pennipes for sure.

Confiremd. It is one of the few species that seems to favour
Geranium flowers...
