Thread subject: Diptera.info :: What fly is this?

I photographed this in the garden earlier, its about 1-2cm in size

Coenosia sp. - Muscidae (I think C. tigrina). Size is rather 5-7 mm. ;)

Coenosia tigrina (Muscidae), unless it's really as big as you say :o. Should be 4.5-7mm (front of face to end of abdomen).

Thanks guys! And you're measurements will be right-I'm not very good at judging sizes but you see he's less than the width of a blade of grass.
