Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Fannia scalaris?

Finally got a half decent photo of these humping flies. Looks like scalaris in the Gallery. Correct?

Interesting to see how the projection on the male mid-tibia grips the female wing edge. I wondered what it was for.

I'd say rather incisurata than scalaris

Thanks Nikita....incisurata hasn't been recorded up here, so that would be another first..:) How do you distinguish it from scalaris? There are quite a few Fannia flying about at the moment and I have several pics if some defining feature is needed...assuming I can pick out this fly among all my pics.
