Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Bibio nigriventris? E-HU, 05.2010 -> B reticulatus

Hi, this one is from last week. 8 mm or so. According to my key nigriventris should have 5 flagellomeres - but what counts as a flagellomer by Bibio? Because the antenna has 1 region with 5 compressed bits and a proximal region. Also, according to my key, it has black underside but sometimes it's yellowish (as on my photos)

Doesn't look like nigriventris and it is too big.
Nigriventris is often misidentified, the point with the flagellomeres is quite troublesome.
The veins are pretty strong here, suggesting B. reticulatus.

Thank You Theo, now I know that I must count all the 7 flagellomeres. This keys out than as B reticulatus in my book also.

Please be critical about my suggestion,
the darkness of veins can be very misleading in flashed pictures. That is why I said 'suggesting'
